In times of worldwide uncertainty, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, collaboration across manufacturing industries to create products that can support anyone from healthcare professionals to patients impacted by the coronavirus, has never been more essential.
We at OnePLM, the UK’s leading Siemens partner, are proud to mention that we have been doing our part to help cater to the increased demand in ventilators across the UK by supporting our long term customer, Penlon, who during this crisis have been manufacturing at full capacity with an aim to provide our hospitals with 15,000 new ventilators.
Penlon’s design tool of choice is Solid Edge, part of the Siemens Digital Industries Software portfolio, that we supply and support. Solid Edge was used to model parts and assembles, create drawings for their ventilators and provide downstream manufacturing data for suppliers to use. We felt that under these high pressure and unique circumstances, it was only right to offer Penlon free technical support from our engineering team, under the guidance of Chris Morgan, who helped Penlon to ensure components were the correct fit and function, plus provide drafting support to ensure there was swift and accurate drawing production for the new ventilator.
We plan to continue offering support until this project comes to fruition and will continue driving innovation into the marketplace using our advanced software to enable companies to get their products to market faster, first time.
