OnePLM Ltd today announced that it has been given rights to supply Polarion™ software, the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solution suite from Siemens’ Industry software business, in the UK and Ireland. Siemens Industry Software recently added Polarion, used to define, build, test and manage complex software systems, to its PLM portfolio. Connecting teams and projects, Polarion ALM enables manufacturers to continuously integrate, verify and validate the growing software content they build into their products. A unified 100 percent browser-based solution, it is equally suited to a small team or an extensive user base of thousands.
OnePLM has many years of experience supporting customers to improve their competitiveness through more effective use of PLM. As PLM has advanced and matured, ALM has been evolving. Real-time collaboration and consistency are just as important for application development as they are for product development and ALM opens up exciting opportunities to expand transparency and traceability.
Polarion empowers development teams by providing a single solution that spans the entire lifecycle of an application through requirements, coding, testing and release. It has been readily adopted in highly regulated environments and in sectors where software supports product portfolios with fast evolving hardware.
“With software an integral part of product development across all industries, innovation is increasingly dependent on embedded systems and software for applications. ALM is the obvious next step,” comments Mark Parry, Managing Director of OnePLM Ltd. “The effective management of software development, testing and release has grown in significance and we are confident that many of our customers will be impressed with Polarion ALM. It took our technical team by storm with its crisp interface, ease of use and the power to really make a difference.”
Nick Farrall, UK Indirect Sales Director at Siemens Industry Software, adds, “OnePLM can now offer world leading PLM and ALM solutions to customers. Using Polarion to obtain a clear view of status, coupled with automatic notification, IT departments will be able to achieve fast acceptance of different phases and projects. That will mean better use of available resources.”
With the flexibility to support preferred processes and workflows, Polarion works with agile and lean development methodologies and interfaces reliably with popular third party tools such as MATLAB® Simulink, HP® Quality Center® and Atlassian® Jira® and with open and fully documented Java API.
“OnePLM Ltd has extensive experience supplying and implementing the Siemens PLM Software portfolio and we can now offer the leading ALM solution to our customers. This agreement marks an exciting new phase in the partnership between Siemens PLM Software and OnePLM,” concludes Mark Parry.
